Imperas to present the latest RISC-V technology/methodology that supports custom extensions, processor verification, and software development on virtual platforms.
Imperas Software Ltd., the leader in RISC-V models and simulation solutions, today announced their participation at the next Austin Area RISC-V Group Meeting, a virtual event to be held on May 9, 2023.
The RISC-V Ecosystem: Building In Flexibility With Compatibility
For hardware developers RISC-V offers the flexibility to optimize a processor to address target applications in new and unique ways. RISC-V also offers new opportunities to select IP core options from the commercial IP companies, open-source projects, and also the freedom to construct a new implementation based on the open standard ISA (Instruction Set Architecture).
Traditional software ecosystems have developed around a common set of hardware configurations, but RISC-V offers unique flexibility. Will this flexibility lead to fragmentation and chaos?
This talk looks at the RISC-V ecosystem, both the successes and areas with work still required. Mass adoption is dependent of the efficiencies of scale that in turn depend on compatibility while supporting the value added-optimizations and differentiation. Has the RISC-V approach, based on ecosystem-first strategy, built-in sufficient support for flexibility with compatibility?
